Welcome to Maryland Advantage. We visited all of Maryland’s casinos in May 2021. This website details what we found in terms of table games, slots, video poker and other gaming amenities. We also cover dining, hotels and other attractions at Maryland casinos.
There are six Maryland casinos. These range from massive gaming resorts to smaller casinos in rural parts of the state. Each has its unique part in Maryland’s casino industry.
All typical casino games can be found in Maryland casinos. These include blackjack, craps, roulette, baccarat, pai gow, Three Card Poker, Ultimate Texas Hold’em, Mississippi Stud, Let it Ride, live poker rooms, video poker, slots, and keno. Maryland requires all casino guests to be at least 21 years old.
Hollywood Casino Perryville
Hollywood Casino Perryville is about an hour north of Baltimore on Interstate 95. It offers lower limits than the Baltimore casinos. There are about 20 table games and 800 slot and video-poker machines at Hollywood Casino Perryville. The casino also has two pits with the typical variety of table games. There is also a poker room and a race book.
Horseshoe Baltimore is a Caesars property, and it is located in Baltimore’s downtown area. The casino offers two levels (floors) of gaming. The lower level is slots, video poker and a race book. The upper level has more slots, video poker, several table-game pits, a stadium gaming area and a poker room. All popular games are included. An outdoor smoking area offers a table-game pit, stadium gaming and slots.
Live! Maryland is a massive casino in Hanover. This venue has nearly 4,000 slot and video-poker machines, 200 table games and over 60 poker tables. There is an outdoor smoking area as well, with a table-game pit, slots, video poker and stadium gaming. The venue includes 11 restaurants, several bars, and other attractions.
MGM National Harbor
MGM National Harbor is one of the largest casinos in the country. It is a resort in the southern part of the state, just outside of Washington D.C. This two-story casino floor offers about 120 table games, 3,300 slot and video-poker machines, and a live poker room. There is also a luxury hotel, a convention center, a variety of restaurants, and a smoking lounge with slots.
Oceans Downs is a casino with a racetrack near the Atlantic Ocean. It has about 850 slots and 20 table games, including blackjack, craps, roulette, Ultimate Texas Hold’em, and Mississippi Stud. There is a smoking lounge with slots, and there are four restaurants on the property.
Rocky Gap Resort is in Western Maryland. It is at the entrance of Rocky Gap State Park near Flintstone. This smaller casino offers almost 700 slot machines and 17 table games, including blackjack, craps, roulette, and Ultimate Texas Hold’em. A smoking lounge includes slots.

Maryland voters approved sports betting by a two-to-one margin in November 2020. The Maryland General Assembly then passed a bill to regulate sportsbooks, and it was signed into law by Governor Larry Hogan in May 2021. There soon could be dozens of sportsbooks in Maryland. We will cover the advancement of the new form of gambling in the state as Maryland sportsbooks come to market.
